MISSION:

RCMA Mulberry Community Academy, in Polk County, is seeking an energetic and dependable Cook.

RCMA Mulberry Community Academy is dedicated to opening doors of opportunity for the children of Florida’s farmworkers and agricultural migrants. Most students in our small, community-oriented classes are English Language Learners of Central American heritage with big dreams of making their mark. Our teachers often comment on how privileged they feel to work with young people who so greatly appreciate learning! In order to best serve our student population, the school is a dual language program (50:50, English/Spanish), with a one-way immersion model. Our successful Charter School is located in Mulberry, Florida.

Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) is a non-profit corporation serving Florida agriculture workers and their children for more than fifty years. RCMA is recognized as a “School of Hope operator” by the State Board of Education, a prestigious designation for non-profit, charter school operators.

BENEFITS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; however, other duties may be assigned:

  1. Prepares nutritional meals for children and staff according to USDA guidelines.
  2. Follows centralized menus and recipes.
  3. Maintains a sanitary and safe kitchen and ensures all equipment is in proper working condition. Follows all safety policies and procedures.
  4. Cleans kitchen, washes dishes, pots and pans, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, and empties trash.

NOTE:  Regular work attendance is necessary to perform the essential duties.

EXPERIENCE: Up to 1 year of experience in preparing food for large groups.

OTHER:

  • Must be age 21 or older and have or be able to obtain a Florida Driver’s License and must have dependable transportation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
